Card Condition Guide
Every raw (ungraded) single we sell is condition-checked and labeled using the scale below — the same standard used across the trading card industry. If you're ever unsure where a specific card falls, ask us before you buy.
Near Mint
Looks essentially fresh out of the pack. No creases, no visible surface wear, sharp corners, and clean edges under normal light. Foils may show only the faintest handling marks, if any. This is the condition most collectors are chasing.
Lightly Played
Minor wear that's easy to miss unless you're looking for it — a touch of corner or edge softening, maybe a light scuff. No creases or major flaws. Perfectly playable and still displays well in a binder or sleeve.
Moderately Played
Wear that's visible at a glance — noticeable border or corner wear, light scratching, minor creasing, or some surface dulling. Still fully playable, priced to reflect the added wear.
Heavily Played
Significant, obvious wear — heavier creasing, notable whitening along the edges, scuffed foil, or similar damage. Budget-friendly and still usable as a playset card, though it may not pass tournament sleeve checks everywhere.
Damaged
Visible tears, heavy creasing or folding, water damage, writing, or other major flaws. Typically not tournament legal even sleeved. Priced accordingly for collectors who just want the card for cheap, or for sleeve-and-forget binders.
Condition calls are made by eye under standard lighting — not a substitute for professional grading. If precision matters for a specific card, ask about our on-site PSA, Beckett, and TAG grading services.
Graded Slabs
For high-value cards, a professional grade removes the guesswork entirely. We carry graded slabs in-store and offer on-site submission at select events.
